Cite an internet source in CSM format

An internet citation provides enough of the URL, in angled brackets, to locate the material, plus the date the material was read, signalled by the phrase “as of” in parentheses or brackets (CSM §3:15). The builder requires the “as of” access date and refuses without it, since §3:15 mandates that access-date tail.

The CSM form

Governed by CSM §3:15. Every field in the builder cites the section it follows.

(Alden, Editorial Opinion (May 3, 1998) <http://www.legal.com/News/1371editorial.htm> [as of Sept. 21, 1998].)

Example in this form, from CSM §3:15 (Reporter of Decisions text).
