Cite a newspaper article in CSM format

A newspaper citation gives the author (if any), the title of the article in italics, the name of the publication, the date in parentheses, and the page — with the column number optional, and the section designation included where the paper numbers sections separately. “Page” and “column” are spelled out outside parentheses, and the month is always abbreviated (CSM §3:12).

The CSM form

Governed by CSM §3:12. Every field in the builder cites the section it follows.

(Budnick, Muzzling the Campaign Watchdog, S.F. Recorder (Apr. 7, 1998) p. 1.)

Example in this form, from CSM §3:12 (Reporter of Decisions text).
